Jordan Sleepover

I've been talking about having the my brother's kids over one at a time for a sleepover. I really thought it would be a good opportunity to bond and connect with my wonderful nieces and nephews.

Lately, I've been taking the two older girls, Aubrey and Jordan, when they get off school or don't have when I can so they don't have to go to daycare. They really don't like daycare.

One day they were over and it was Friday. I was out working in the yard and Jordi was helping me sweep off the back patio and other various things. She said, "You have to do all the hard work because Dillon can't help you, huh?" And she sounded really concerned. It was sweet.

Then I asked her, "Do you want to help with the weeding?"

And she said, "Yes!... What's weeding?"

I died. She's so cute and sweet. She's always been such a helper and so sensitive.

So when her mom came to pick her up, she still wanted to help me with things. Then I thought it would be a good way to start off the sleepovers.

We let Jordi pick what she wanted for dinner, and we ended up taking out Chinese food. As we were eating, she said, "It's so quiet; I like it." I think she liked feeling like an only child for a little bit.

We watched some TV, talked and laughed. She modeled my gag-gift ESTRADA glasses. She was so funny.

The next day, we did hair and makeup. Jordi is so pretty.

I didn't take pics of her makeup job on me. Let's just say she liked the blue and it kind of looked like I was beaten in an alley. Hee hee. It was a blast though.

After that we went shopping while Dillon got a haircut and Jordi got a cute Justice tee.

I love my little Jordi to pieces. I am so glad we got to spend time together, and I really appreciate her love and help.

FAIL!

So a big reason I like to blog is because it can double as a journal for a lot of things... Right now I am pulling a HUGE blog FAIL! I'm not doing anything too terribly exciting, but I have things I need to post. Yeah, I kind of suck right now.

I was working CRAZY hours last month (like CRAZY), and I'm not sure what happened to this month. I feel like I'm still trying to recoup from September. We still haven't celebrated my birthday, so, see, it's not just you I'm neglecting.

BRB - hopefully...

Singing in the Rain

So it's been really muggy since monsoon season rolled around. It hit early this year, I guess. When I tell people who don't live hear about it, they usually say, "What?!?!! AZ humid?!?!?! That's odd..." And other such things. No, it's not odd. It happens every year.

On Saturday, the clouds burst, so to speak. It was pouring. We had "gutter-rivers" as I call them. I had to go outside! I drug the dog along. He seemed annoyed that this stuff kept falling on him while he tried to "make his rounds" in the neighborhood. He did "prance" around with me a bit though.

I really couldn't believe that we were the only ones on our block out in it. It wasn't an option, in my book. I HAD to go out and splash in the rain. It was so fun!
